The 2013 Chablis Grand Cru Les Blanchots has an attractive bouquet: quite floral with hints of wild heather and dried white flower joining the citrus fruit. The palate is crisp and focused with good acidity and a terse citric and penetrating finish that seems to electrify the senses – which is what a great Chablis does so well. Drink 2015-2024.
Pliant, open and expressive, the 2013 Chablis Blanchots is surprisingly accessible at this stage. Orange marmalade, tropical fruit and apricots blossom in a Chablis with terrific mid-palate pliancy and gorgeous overall balance. Sweet floral notes add an attractive upper register. Nicely centered, seamless and pure, the 2013 should drink well pretty much upon release. The Blanchots emerges from two parcels; one at the top of the slope and second towards the bottom of the hill.
Domaine Servin is one of the largest and oldest domain in Chablis, with its establishment since 1547, run by the current 7th generation of the family, Mr. Francois SERVIN - the owner & winemaker. This ownership covers 42 hectares of vineyards on kimmeridgian limestone-clay soils of tiny oyster shells with an average vine age of 40 years. 90% of the productions are exported to 28 countries well around the world.
This vineyard is known for its elegance and generous aromas. The Blanchots is easy to taste early with delicate floral aromas. A rare unoaked Chablis Grand Cru, the 100% tank vinification preserves its delicate fruit/floral flavours but takes nothing away from its long ageing qualities.
Bright rich yellow colour with green reflection. The nose is a complex, fine and elegant at the same time. The minerality is present with an impressive blend of floral and white fruit. The palate is powerful and warm. The ripe aspect of the vintage leads us to yellow fruits (peach). The finish is promsing being ripe, round and fresh. Well balanced Grand Cru.
Pair with lobster, fish and poulty.
